It's really hot on the set – and that's not just because of the model's skimpy outfit: 21-year-old nicole bosnek twists and turns in front of the photographer in a forge. She poses next to the fire, wielding a pair of tongs in her hand. Two horses curiously sticking their heads in. Bosnek and three other girls came to schliersee in upper bavaria on monday for the shooting of the german peasant calendar 2013. The day before nine other girls were already in front of the camera.
Together with her father, nicole bosnek has a small farm with horses in aalen in baden-wurttemberg. Your friend has a dairy farm. This means that the most important criterion for inclusion in the calendar has already been met: the link to agriculture.
The makers of the calendar want to improve the image of agriculture, as project manager mike helmy says. The aim is to show that there are beautiful and modern women in the countryside and not just cliched country bumpkins, as juror peyman amin once said.
Applying on a whim
Several hundred girls from all over germany applied for the photo shootings. The requirements: an age of at least 16 years and a connection to country life. Nicole decided on a whim to apply for the third farmer's calendar. At the casting in munich she was chosen from about 300 applicants for the photo shoot. The jury – which included presenter desiree nick – chose her as one of the 13 girls for the south german edition of the calendar. It is published in september with a print run of 9999 copies.
It's the first photo shoot for nicole – and quite revealing too. Therefore she does not only think about her outfit. But her nervousness is quickly taken away by make-up artist kerstin petter. "The mask is there to bring calmness, to distract the girls and to make them loose."
Everything for the beauty
For the beauty petter pulls out all the stops: hairspray, body lotion, comb and brush, brush and powder are used. Nevertheless nothing should be seen of it as far as possible. The motto this year is naturalness. "Back to nature – no more frills and artificial poses", promise the calendar makers. Erotic, but not naked are the peasant calendar girls to drive through the year.
Nicole fits the bill: "the last time i saw eyelashes this long, they were glued on", petter praises the 21-year-old's skill. She is more than happy with her set – forges and horses: "this is my absolute favorite motif." Also in her outfit – black underwear and highheels and a cloth with metal plates around her hooves – she feels good.
But just before she gets too hot, nicole gets a cold shower. "So that her skin shines again", explains project manager helmy, and shakes drops of water from an umbrella. Photographer stefan soll admits: "of course the scenes are a bit staged. But after all it is about the models."
