Niclas wich sits at the table and talks about his time at the german fubball boarding school in bad aibling. Meanwhile, under the table, he pushes a ball from the right to the left fub and back again. Niclas can hardly live a minute without fubball. "He even sleeps with a ball in his bed", underlines his mother.
His love of this sport is also what prompted him to leave home and seek his sporting fortune in bad aibling – despite the fact that he is only 13 years old. Until then, the player from steinwiesen played for spvgg bayreuth in the upper district league. But now he wanted to take the next step. In addition, the time burden was too great. "We had to drive him to bayreuth a total of five times a week. Sometimes he even had to do his homework in the car", his mother emphasizes. So it wasn't always easy to balance school and sports.
Solution found on the internet
The 13-year-old therefore searched for a solution and found it on the internet. That's where he ended up at the german soccer boarding school in bad aibling, near rosenheim. "I immediately had the feeling that this is exactly what I want to do." After a week of trial living during the easter vacations, the decision was made quite quickly. "We said we would support him if he wanted to go to boarding school. But we stayed out of the decision-making process", his mother emphasizes.
Ideal conditions
The 13-year-old found ideal conditions in bad aibling. Not only does the school building stand on the site of a former U.S. Barracks, but it is also home to the soccer fields – including an indoor artificial turf field in a disused hangar. Niclas finds only positive words, both for the sporting and pedagogical support. "Our teachers are great. These are almost all young people up to 30", explains the 13-year-old, who would like to graduate from high school or even take his A-levels at the boarding school. "The teachers always ask us how we are and whether they can help us. The support is really good."
The same applies to soccer training, which takes place not only in the team, but also individually. The numerous available trainers make sure of that. "Targeted work is done on the weak." In his case it is the left fub and partly lack of stability in the hip.
Nicla's strengths outweigh
But its strong outweigh. A good game vision, high willingness to run and good motivational power, niclas pays on. These are the attributes that have already made him a leader in the U15 team at the boarding school – even though he hasn't even been playing for two months yet. Many of his fellow students who have been at the boarding school for a long time have already made the leap to well-known clubs such as TSV 1860 rosenheim, spvgg unterhaching or bayern munchen. "The internat has a very good reputation with the clubs", the 13-year-old sees the facility as a kind of springboard for.
The goal is FC bayern munchen
The first successes already seem to be coming. He has already received signals from his coaches that he will be able to try out for spvgg unterhaching in winter. If this works out, he will probably take his chance. However, he does not consider this to be the ultimate goal. "It would be great if i could make it to the bavarian team one day." Since the german record champion and spvgg unterhaching have a partnership, this idea is not that far-fetched. "You just always have to stand out from a team to get the chance to be spotted by such a club." And that is the most important goal for the defensive midfielder. He invests a lot of time and takes every opportunity to train.
The young players are also trained in the internat to set concrete goals for themselves. In order to actually achieve this, they are not only challenged on the soccer field, but also receive mental training. "It's about being more self-confident and approaching things positively." The 13-year-old likes it.
Generally niclas is characterized by very rough ambition. "He can not lose at all", his mother explains, receiving a nod of approval from her son. "Whenever I have a goal in mind and want something very badly, I go for it." Probably also for this reason his homesickness is limited so far.
