However, tourism is not only an important economic factor for our hessian neighbors, but also for the district of bad kissingen. But: what is the current situation and when is tourism too much for flora and fauna??
Corona pandemic: new tourism trend in the rhon
Jennifer rother, managing director of rhon gmbh, says: "corona is definitely making itself felt in rhon as well." Accommodation providers and the catering trade had to develop hygiene concepts, among other things. And despite the pandemic: "we are experiencing a strong increase in demand from the local population group. Many rhonians decide not only to vacation in germany, but also to "vacation at home"." The trend is toward vacationing in smaller accommodations.

Bed occupancy in the rhon is slowly increasing

But there is a trend: slowly it becomes more." According to rother, the number of overnight stays is still behind that of the previous year. She sees the lockdown as the reason for this. Increasingly on weekends, guests from the surrounding metropolitan areas were exploring the rhon.
Restaurateurs and accommodation providers
