The most welcome news came at the end of the public town council meeting in neuenmarkt on monday evening, when mayor siegfried decker (NG) responded to the question from town councilor klaus zahner () as to whether the sale of the municipal building plots in the "steigengasse" development area had already begun was started, the answer was: "it is getting underway!" Like many other neighboring municipalities of the city of bayreuth, the municipality of neuenmarkt was also involved in the intended change of the land use plan for the commercial and retail site on the land of the former margrave’s barracks. Here, the city of bayreuth is planning the settlement of the mobelhauser xxlutz and momax with sales areas of 24,000 and 7500 square meters respectively. Mayor decker: "this is a large-scale retail project which, according to state planning, is only permissible in a major center. We are of the opinion that community interests will not be impaired. Mayor siegfried decker reported extensively from the youngest meeting of the middle school association neuenmarkt-wirsberg. The reorganization of the "frankische linie" secondary school system was also discussed and "weidenberg-bindlach-bad berneck-gefrees" and specifically the middle schools gefrees and neuenmarkt-wirsberg as well as the sebastian-kneipp-middle school bad berneck. The background to this is the dissolution of the gefrees secondary school and the associated adjustment of the school districts. The regulation, which came into force on 1. August, provides, among other things, that the area of the market marktschorgast will be included in the area of the middle school association "frankische linie" INCLUDED. Mayor decker also announced that the middle school students from the market town of marktschorgast, who will be attending a middle school from the "weidenberg-bindlach-bad berneck-gefrees" school association in the 2018/19 school year, will also be able to attend the new school are allowed to finish their secondary education at the secondary school they have attended so far. "This is the result of protracted negotiations. We are pleased about this decision and look forward to the schoolchildren from marktschorgast. We will do everything to make you feel comfortable", decker looks at the new organization of the "frankische linie" middle school association fixed. In the new school year 2019/20, the elementary school neuenmarkt-wirsberg will have one full-day class in the 4th grade in years 1 to 4. The school teaches a second grade and four regular classes.
The mayor reported a positive development in the after-school care center of the association school. Currently, the after-school care center, which is run by the evangelical church, is attended by more than 30 children, so the facility has been increased to 40 children with the approval of the district administration office. Decker thanked the school association and the school management in particular, because additional space was needed for the expansion.
The middle school will grow with the students from marktschorgast. In addition to two all-day classes, two regular classes will also be formed in the 2019/20 school year. They are also satisfied with the further development of the business school, which will again have an introductory class and thus three classes in total.
Decker then informed the council about the 2018 financial statements of the middle school association and spoke of solid finances. The next step is to carry out renovation work in the areas of heating, ventilation and sanitation. The government of upper franconia has already approved a grant of 483,000 euros for this purpose. As far as the digital classroom is concerned, the secondary school association has set out on the right path. Decker: "we will prepare our students for the use of digital media as best we can." The uncertainty about the demand for digital schools remains, however.
