If trees are felled on the annafest-gelande, the mood is abruptly irritated. Since a 43-year-old man was killed by a branch and a 15-year-old girl was seriously injured in 2005, the city forester has cut down every tree that poses even the slightest risk.

"That's when the spab stops for me" argues lisa badum. "The cellar forest is both a natural treasure and a green lung, creating a unique annafest atmosphere. Why is a hateful slash and a hole cut in the forest for no reason??" Forest and annafest were "defaced"; hundred-year-old trees were "cut down" – and this without informing the population about it. "I will not accept in any case that reasons such as climate change, dry summers or traffic safety are pretexted", says lisa badum.
But ulrich buchholz also notes a dilemma: "the trauma in forchheim of another tree falling down and injuring someone is gross." If a forester decides to cut down a tree because its roots seem to be damaged, then i, as a tree-lover, cannot say that the tree must remain standing. In the case of a dispute, experts were consulted, but even they were usually cautious and advised to fall, buchholz regrets the usual procedure.
