Karl heinz wirth diplom- ingenieur alexander durrschmidt informed the municipal council about the regeneration of the deep wells, the cleaning of the deep well drainage to the treatment plant and the pipe replacement in the road to the mountain.
The pumps of the deep wells I and II have been renewed, durrschmidt told the rates. As the riser and wellhead are being removed on this occasion, the deep well was visited with a camera to assess the degree of contamination (especially of the filter pipe sections) by iron and manganese deposits.
It was discovered that the filter pipes are largely clogged and must be removed by cleaning the fountain in order to maintain operation in the medium term. This is to be done in the low consumption period december 2018 to january 2019.
The cost for this is about 30000 euros. The council unanimously decided that the durrschmidt office should carry out the necessary tendering process.
On coarse flow tests of both wells, durrschmidt said, it was found that pipe friction in the interconnecting pipeline was unusually high and that the demand rate performance was limited. The reason for this is very heavy deposits of iron sludge in the pipe, which are so encrusted that they cannot be removed by normal water flushing.
In this case, professional pipe cleaning must be carried out, using very high flow velocities, air and water, and cavitation effects. The costs amount to around 10,000 euros, explains durrschmidt. The council unanimously approved the works.
The rough solution chosen
Due to the frequency of the pipe bursts and the poor condition of the local mains in the street "zum berg" it is urgently necessary and economically sensible to replace the entire pipeline. The renewal of the local power line, according to durrschmidt should take place in the coming year.
According to conservative estimates, the cost estimate for the renewal of the local network pipeline in the entire area of bergstrabe is around 200,000 euros, durrschmidt continues. Mayor siebenhaar emphasized that each pipe burst costs around 3000 euros. Then only selective repairs had been carried out and otherwise the old pipe, which had ruptured, was still in place. After discussion, the council decided to entrust the durrschmidt office with the execution of the necessary tenders.
