A glow worm conquers hearts

A glow worm conquers hearts

For the second time in his own "birthplace" the ensemble of residents and employees of the barmherzige bruder gremsdorf presented their musical "gluwi – ein wundersamer haufen" on saturday a show – not only for children.
Since the premiere in 2009 – also in gremsdorf – the 20 or so actors and background staff have been on the road a few times a year to delight the small and the rough, the handicapped or the healthy, with their happy characters.
Five-year-old lysanne saw the invitation when she visited the workshops on the occasion of the open day of the tur in autumn. Since then it was clear for them: "there I want to go." Girlfriend marie and her brother elias visited the club on saturday and were invited to join them. "We’re already excited, revealed the three in the run-up and their shining eyes confirmed that.
The musical tells the story of the little luminous oat who one morning can no longer get out of the door and go to his friends, because there has suddenly grown a large mountain. Of course the parents don’t understand anything at first. But when they recognize the problem, they react calmly: the mole has probably accidentally erected a mound right in front of their tower. The resulting difficulties are not solvable for the family alone. But thanks to many friends, who are all different and therefore have different ideas, everything comes naturally to a good end.
The work was written by the composer johannes berner. He approached cati worner, the project manager of the ensemble, which was originally founded as a black light theater, and opened the floodgates to her. It took a good two years of preparation before the first performance was staged. The black light theater was installed, so that the scene lighting changed again and again on saturday to the enthusiasm of the spectators.
It is logical that mole stollenreiter always works in the dark – so we had to come up with something to make it visible. And for gluwi’s thoughts, the presentation with black light was a perfect choice. This was made possible by the know-how gained from long experience and the acquisition of new lighting elements.
The spoken and sung lines – some by professionals, some by amateurs – were pre-recorded and ran playback. But that doesn’t mean that the performers couldn’t do it – their lip movements were synchronized. Who did not know it, it could hardly have been noticed. Costumes and requisites were made in the workshops by the local residents themselves – with as little effort as possible, but with a lot of imagination and enormous charisma. The musical received the "gluwi" award for the successful cooperation between disabled and non-disabled actors in 2010 the integration medal of the district erlangen-hochstadt. The first two rows of seats in the audience were intended especially for children. After all, everyone on the 180 seats should be able to see well. But it was not only the little ones who enjoyed themselves. Child-friendly design, cheerful and colorful costumes, alternating black light and normal lighting, and of course the beautiful story about friendship, without which one would be poor, won the hearts of the audience by storm.
