On thursday morning, the control center first alerted the kersbach and forchheim fire departments shortly before 10 a.M. To an automatic fire alarm at the waasner company. When the fire department arrived at the "sandacker" industrial estate, the firefighters were able to take action on arrival in kersbach, employees immediately reported that the fire had been confirmed at an aluminum melting furnace.

A team wearing breathing protection then checked the air conditioning system using a thermal imaging camera. Thanks to the rapid action and courageous intervention of the trained waasner company personnel, the kersbach and forchheim fire departments did not have to carry out any further fire extinguishers in the end.
The plant was then checked several times with the thermal imaging camera for remaining embers and the hall was checked for fumes with a gas detector. After nothing more was determined, the object could be handed back to the operator after a good hour and a half.
Two employees were examined by the rescue service, which was also alerted.
Still during the ongoing operation in the "sandacker" industrial area there was another fire alarm in a hotel in bayreuther strabe. The emergency group vehicle and the turntable ladder, which were already on their way to the geratehaus, arrived at the scene of the incident.
False alarm
After an extensive investigation, however, it was not necessary to intervene there. The emergency services had been called to a false alarm.
The fire departments of forchheim and kersbach were on duty at the two locations with a total of six vehicles and around 30 volunteers until lunchtime.
